A New Beginning

July 2022 marks a new era for Barca Academy Singapore (also known as Barcelona FC Football Academy Singapore). The academy is now being run by a new and progressive management team. They aspire to raise the bar for the academy by improving the quality of the training sessions, implementing better communication with players and parents and better customer service standards.

To start off, we have moved our training venue from Saint Patricks’ School to Nexus International School. With its central location at 1 Aljunied Walk and close proximity to the MRT station, this will make it more convenient and accessible for our players. Nexus International School also has FIFA specified artificial turf and we have access to their other training facilities.

Open House

On 2 July 2022, we conducted an Open House for Barca Academy Singapore. We had a morning and evening session. We invited all current players and their parents. Children and parents who wants to find out more about the academy we also invited to come. A good turnout of about 200 parents in total attended both the sessions

We started the Open House with a presentation by Marc Reyes, FC Barcelona Technical Director. He shared with the players and parents our vision for Barca Academy Singapore, new training elements such as body conditioning, introduction of a progress report for our players and video analysis that will be implemented in the near future.

We then opened the floor to a question and answer session and addressed some of the concerns and feedback from the parents. We also received very good suggestions by the parents on how to enhance the training experience for the players.

After the presentation, we proceeded for light refreshments. This gives the new management team and the coaches a good opportunity to mingle and get to know the players and their parents. It also allowed us to share more about our plans to improve the academy.

Kick About Session

After the light refreshments, we moved to the pitch for the fun part – playing football. The players were grouped in teams according to their age and played a game against each other. Parents were also invited to join in the fun. It was a hot day but everybody was having fun playing under the sun that we did not let the heat bother us. Of course, everyone kept themselves hydrated throughout the game.

At the end of the session, it was a good workout session that the kids, parents and coaches truly enjoyed.

Our Commitment

We, at Barca Academy Singapore, were happy that the parents and their kids made the effort to come to our open house. It gave us an opportunity to share our plans for the academy. More importantly, it also enabled us to built rapport and camaraderie with the parents and their child. For most of the parents, it was the first time that they have met the new management team. We wanted to show them that we are sincere and committed in giving our utmost in providing quality football education to their kids with the Barca methodology and values.
